Many friends of Pegasus have asked how they can get more involved and make a lasting impact. We’re excited to introduce a new opportunity: the Pony Up Club. As a Pony Up member, you become an ongoing donor, helping us expand access to therapeutic horseback riding for children and adults with special needs.
Pegasus Therapeutic Riding Center is a place where people of all ages and disabilities experience the healing power of horses. Our therapy focuses on Range of Motion (ROM) exercises where the natural motion and gait of the horse massages the muscles also used in human mobility, offering physical and emotional benefits for riders, especially those who use wheelchairs or face mobility challenges.
Beyond the physical benefits, our program helps riders improve concentration, follow instructions, and build confidence. Many of our autistic riders form strong bonds with our horses and volunteers, sometimes communicating for the first time in ways they hadn’t before. These sessions also promote social skills, trust, and a deep sense of accomplishment.
Your support helps us care for our therapy horses and continue offering riding sessions to students from local school districts and nonprofit partners, including the Center for Autism and Related Disabilities (CARD), Ezekiel’s Gift of Love, Down Syndrome, Angel View, and Desert ARC. Riders from individual homes and group homes are asked to contribute a minimal $10 per session, but no rider is ever turned away due to inability to pay or meet specific requirements.
As a Pony Up member, you’ll receive monthly updates on our horses, stories of rider progress, exclusive highlights like Rider of the Month, and invitations to visit the ranch and witness the transformation firsthand.
