Jason, a 40-year-old quadriplegic from Illinois, heard our radio ad while camping in Palm Desert and made his way to us. Despite being in a wheelchair for 16 years, he held onto his dream of riding a horse again. With careful planning and adherence to safety protocols, including obtaining a medical release, we helped Jason fulfill his dream. It was a team effort, from transferring him onto our horse Jack, to ensuring his comfort throughout the ride. Jason’s joy was contagious; when he was done he described feeling as relaxed as if he’d had a full-body massage. He’s excited to share this milestone with family and friends! A huge shoutout to our volunteers & staff for making this possible and to all who supported Jason’s incredible ride. Stories like these remind us why we do what we do at Pegasus.
